Air Canada Express Pet Policy
Air Canada Express is a small regional airline that provides feeder service for Air Canada. Your small dog or cat may travel in the cabin as long as it is transported in a compliant pet carrier that fits under the seat in front of an adult passenger. It may also travel as checked baggage in a compliant cargo crate.
Your veterinarian will be certifying that your pet is healthy enough to travel and is free of diseases communicable to humans.
Your airline pet passport package includes:
- Instructions, in-cabin regulations, and other information for transporting your pet on Air Canada Express
- Airline Veterinary Certificate and instructions
- Acclimation Certificate and instructions on its use**
- Pet Passport Folder - included with First Class Mail Delivery Options above
- Unlimited Email Support
**During periods of very cold weather, an acclimation certificate may also be required for pets traveling in cargo. On most airlines, pets are not accepted for transport in the cargo section of the airline when the ground temperature is below 45 degrees Fahrenheit (8 degrees Celsius) at any location on the itinerary UNLESS the pet has a veterinarian's statement of low temperature acclimation (Acclimation Certificate).
All instructions and pet policies are verified at the time of order. Requirements to fly your dog or cat with Air Canada Express are included. Enforcement may not be consistent at every airport and having proper documentation will better ensure that no problems will arise during your travels.
Additional forms can be self printed from the Email Attachment option.
