Pet Passport South Korea

This package contains information and detailed step by step instructions on importing your dog or cat to South Korea. If your pet is not traveling to South Korea, then you can select the country your pet is traveling to by clicking her to select a pet passport for another country.

Note: if your pet is transiting South Korea on the same airline, these forms will not be required as long as your airline is able to hold and move your pet from plane to plane for cargo travel.

Carefully following these instructions will make clearing customs easier and quicker. The instructions will also help to avoid having your pet denied entry, put into quarantine or returned to your country of origin.

Our information is constantly being updated to keep it current.

South Korea requires a 15 digit ISO compliant pet microchip and a health certificate for entry from a rabies-free country. If your pet's microchip is not ISO 11784/11785 compliant, then you can carry your own microchip scanner.

Unless your cat or dog is entering South Korea from the following countries, then your pet will need a rabies titer test prior to entry.

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Guam, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, New Zealand, Portugal, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirate and the United Kingdom.

USDA or CFIA endorsement is required if you are entering South Korea from the United States or Canada. If you are transporting your dog or cat from another country, the instructions will advise you accordingly.

If you are entering South Korea with more than 5 animals, you will need an import permit. Check the box above if you are entering South Korea with more than 5 pets for information on how to apply for an import permit. Your order will be increased by $1.50 when selecting this option.

Taking 2 cats to South Korea

I have been doing research for months, emailing the USDA, K-State Rabies lab, asking the vet, and my recruiter; and I still didn't feel like I had clear information because everyone said something slightly different. This packet provided clear, concise directions for each step, and I feel confident that we can avoid a quarantine period upon arrival. To me, it was worth the cost to get the information all in one place and for the peace of mind.
