Our information is constantly being updated to keep it current.
Pet owners entering Saudi Arabia on a tourist visa are not permitted to import a pet. Pet owners must enter on a work or residency visa to import a pet. Saudi Arabia requires an import certificate for entry. As well, your pet must be microchipped with a 15 digit ISO compliant pet microchip and vaccinated for rabies at least 30 days and not more than 12 months of transport. If your pet's microchip is not ISO 11784/11785 compatible, then you can carry your own microchip scanner.
Dogs and cats must have a rabies vaccination between 30 days and 12 months of transport.
Your veterinarian must then complete the proper health certificate and attach the rabies certificate for endorsement by the USDA or CFIA if traveling from the United States or Canada. The forms must be endorsed by the Saudi Embassy. Your veterinarian will also complete the letter to the Director of Customs.
Pets flying to Saudi Arabia must do so as checked baggage or air cargo. They will need a pet crate to do that.
With the package, you get detailed instructions, import permit application instructions, USDA endorsement and instructions and FREE unlimited email support both for you and your veterinarian, should either of you have any questions.
