Our information is constantly being updated to keep it current.
Your pet can enter Costa Rica with proof of current rabies vaccination administered at least 21 days of entry. Costa Rica does recognize the 3 year rabies vaccination if your pet has one. An alternate health certificate must be in Spanish or bi-lingual with one language being Spanish. Included are both the English and Spanish versions of the health certificate.
An internal and external parasite treatment must be administered by a licensed veterinarian between 10 and 30 days of entry.
An import permit is required for pets entering Costa Rica unaccompanied, as air cargo or for breeding or commercial purposes.
