Pet Passport Bhutan
This package contains information and detailed step by step instructions on importing your dog or cat to Bhutan. If your pet is not traveling to Bhutan, then you can select the country your pet is traveling to by clicking here to select a pet passport for another country.
Carefully following these instructions will make clearing customs easier and quicker. The instructions will also help to avoid having your pet denied entry, put into quarantine or returned to your country of origin.
Our information is constantly being updated to keep it current.
To enter Bhutan, your pet must be vaccinated for rabies and then your veterinarian will then draw a blood sample for a rabies titer test. The rabies vaccination, if it is your pet's first rabies vaccination or if your pet's previous vaccination has expired, must be done at least 6 months and not more than one year prior to entering Bhutan. If your pet is due for a booster and its previous vaccination has not expired, it can be done anytime less than one year prior to travel.
Within 48 hours of travel, your veterinarian must then complete the proper health certificate and attach the rabies certificate for endorsement by the USDA or CFIA if you are transporting a pet from the United States or Canada. If you are traveling from a different country, the instructions will advise you of the proper procedure.
Additionally, Bhutan requires and Ticks and Tapeworm test within 7 days of entry.
With the package, you get detailed instructions and FREE unlimited email support both for you and your veterinarian, should either of you have any questions.
