Carefully following these instructions will make clearing customs easier and quicker. The instructions will also help to avoid having your pet denied entry, put into quarantine or returned to your country of origin.
Our information is constantly being updated to keep it current.
To enter the British Virgin Islands, your pet must first be microchipped with a 15 digit ISO Standard 11784 pet microchip. If your pet has a non-ISO microchip, then you need to carry your own microchip scanner. An import permit is required.
Unless your pet has resided in Antigua, Australia, Barbados, Dominica, Jamaica, Montserrat, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, St. Kitts, Anguilla, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, US Virgin Islands or the United Kingdom for 6 months preceeding export, it must be vaccinated for rabies at least twice and then your veterinarian will then draw a blood sample for a rabies titer test. These procedures must be done at least 6 months prior to entering the British Virgin Islands.
Within 21 days of travel, your veterinarian must then complete the proper health certificate and attach the rabies certificate for endorsement by the USDA or CFIA if you are transporting a pet from the United States or Canada. If you are traveling from a different country, the agency in your country must endorse the certificate.
Additionally, the British Virgin Islands require an Import Application and Ticks and Tapeworm test shortly prior to entry.
With the package, you get detailed instructions and FREE unlimited email support both for you and your veterinarian, should either of you have any questions.
