Our information is constantly being updated to keep it current.
Pets can only enter French Polynesia from certain countries*. To enter French Polynesia, your dog or cat must have an import permit. It must have a readable skin tattoo or be microchipped with a 15 digit ISO 11784 compliant pet microchip and vaccinated for rabies within 12 months of transport. If your pet does not have an ISO-compliant microchip, you can carry your own microchip scanner.
After the microchip and rabies vaccination, a rabies titer test must be administered. Then, your veterinarian must then complete the proper health certificate and attach the rabies certificate and titer test results for endorsement by the USDA or CFIA if you are transporting your dog or cat from the United States or Canada. If you are traveling from a different country, the agency in your government responsible for the import and export of live animals should endorse the forms.
