Pet Passport Qatar
This package contains information and detailed step by step instructions on importing your dog or cat to Qatar. If your pet is not traveling to Qatar, then you can select the country your pet is traveling to by clicking here to select a pet passport for another country.
As of June, 2017, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, Libya, Yemen, Maldives have severed ties with Qatar. No pet transports to or from these countries will be permitted.
To import a pet to Qatar, you must be returning to Qatar, intending to reside in the country or have a work visa.
Note: if your pet is transiting Qatar on the same airline, these forms will not be required as long as your airline is able to hold and move your pet from plane to plane for cargo travel.
Carefully following these instructions will make clearing customs easier and quicker. The instructions will also help to avoid having your pet denied entry, put into quarantine or returned to your country of origin.
Our information is constantly being updated to keep it current.
Your pet must be microchipped with a 15 digit pet microchip prior to entering Qatar. If your cat or dog has a microchip, but it is not 15 digits (ISO 11784/11785 compliant), then you can carry your own microchip scanner.
Your pet must have a rabies certificate proving current rabies vaccination administered no sooner than 30 days and no more than 12 months prior to transport. After the rabies vaccination, your pet must have a rabies titer test. This test must be done no sooner than 3 months before entering Qatar. Shortly before travel, a licensed veterinarian will complete the health certificate for endorsement by the USDA or CFIA if traveling from the US or Canada. An import permit from the Department of Animal Resources is also required.
